Moving can be a stressful time and moving with pets just adds to that stress. You are not only packing everything to move but also packing and preparing your pets for the move as well.

There are some preparations involved when getting pets ready to move. Keeping your pet comfortable is very important and will make the move a lot easier, especially if your moving a long way from your current home. Here

are some ways to help your pet stay comfortable.

Make sure your pets don't get to hot or to cold.

You will need to supply your pets with enough food and water for the move.

Some pets can handle the motion of the car while others can't. Watch out for car sickness. Make sure to have cleaning supplies with you and have them within reach.

Any type of pet can be moved and will do alright for a time out of it's surroundings. Some pets are more difficult and take more time to move then others. Some pets need very little supplies to help them while moving, while other pets need a lot of supplies to make their move easier. Here are some tips for moving with a cat, dog, fish, bird, hamster, mice and rats.

Moving with a cat
Cats do not like change. Once they get used to a certain environment that's where they want to stay. If you are moving with a cat make sure to get a cat carrier. Leave the carrier in the house several weeks before the move. Leave the carrier door open so the cat can explore the carrier. Put your cats favorite bedding in the carrier as well as some favorite cat toys. The cat will start to familiarize itself with the carrier.

You will need a good clip-on food dish and a clip-on water bottle. This will keep your cats food and water off the floor of the cat carrier. The water bottle will allow everything to stay dry in the carrier. With a water dish everything would be wet.

Bring extra bedding for your cat and some extra cat toys. Sometimes cats can have accidents in their carriers so it's always a good idea to be prepared.

Top 10 Pets in Power - Time

Checkers didn't live to see Richard Nixon become president, but the black and white cocker spaniel helped make it all possible. In 1952, when allegations of an illegal slush fund arose while then-Senator Nixon was running for vice-president, Tricky Dick delivered a nationally televised address to defuse the scandal. It would become known as the "Checkers" speech, for in the context of providing his "complete financial history," Nixon said there was one gift his family received that, by golly, he would not return: his daughters' dog. "The kids, like all kids, love the dog," Nixon said. "And I just want to say this right now, that regardless of what they say about it, we're gonna keep it." Checkers proved to be Nixon's best friend indeed. The speech was a hit, Nixon remained the Republican vice presidential candidate, and he and Dwight Eisenhower won the election.
